Last summer, I had the pleasure of meeting Frank Miller at ALA. He was so giddy for this book and this show, and he signed my copy of the advanced reader copy. I am excited for this!
The book was, to be frank (hehe), fairly standard YA fantasy fare, nothing all that notable as far as plot or characters or themes, but all using Arthurian characters. A special young woman is granted the power (the sword) to fight a corrupt authority who also seeks to take the power from her, all the while learning the truth about her lineage. You know…it could be any other YA fantasy novel, but what really makes the book shine is Frank Miller’s art. Plus, there’s the foundation here for something really special in the hands of talented filmmakers.
Take a look!
